CONVENTION 2014 CJA WORKSHOPS

There will be two Creative Judaic Arts workshops offered at convention, both on Friday morning. There is no charge, but there is a limit to the number of participants. Places will be given on a first-come first-served basis.

PRAYER WEAVING
To those of us not used to traditional Torah study, studying text can be intimidating. We will supply the text, and after a brief study with a partner, participants will take it apart and reassemble as a prayer of their own making. When finished, put in an acrylic frame and display the text in a new way. This is a decorative way to develop your own artifacts.

HAVDALAH MATCHBOX COVER AND TRAY
Havdalah epitomizes the division between sacred and profane like no other ritual. Participants will decorate a matchbox and tray for holding ritual items necessary for the service using fabric and other materials.
