Sharon Butler, immediate past president of Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington, has been a driving force behind the organization’s growth and impact. Though her presidency has concluded, her leadership, energy and compassion remain central to BCGW's mission. She continues to serve as a member of the board, hands-on volunteer and passionate advocate for communal care and chesed.
 
Sharon’s dedication to Jewish communal life has served many institutions. She has held leadership and volunteer roles with the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, Kemp Mill Synagogue, and the Berman Hebrew Academy—where she served for ten years as Admissions Director, welcoming generations of families into the school community.
 
Known for her tireless spirit, Sharon brings the same discipline and intentionality to her personal life. She is renowned for her unwavering commitment to health and wellness—never missing a workout, always prioritizing mindful eating and making time to nurture friendships that span continents and decades.
 
Sharon and her husband David divide their time between the Kemp Mill community in Silver Spring and Miami Beach. They have four children, seven grandchildren and three grand dogs.
