Susu & Steve Danis
L'Dor V'Dor Award

We are honored to recognize Susu and Steve Danis with the L’Dor V’Dor Award, celebrating a legacy of commitment, service, and continuity that spans generations at Brauser Maimonides Academy.

Susu and Steve’s involvement with BMA began in 1994, when their oldest child, Rachel, enrolled, followed by Elliot, Jacob, and Max. In 25 consecutive years with at least one child in the school (a record only recently broken), they were consistently present and involved—Susu as one of the school’s early PTA presidents and an active PTA member, and Steve through his long-standing commitment to coaching the BMA Baseball team. Steve’s Mom, Lois Danis z’l served on the BMA Board for several years during this time as well.

After “graduation” Susu and Steve did not step away from the school. Steve continued coaching and in 2022 further deepened his involvement by volunteering as an assistant teacher in Middle School math and running electives in Math, Debate and Business, sharing his knowledge and experience directly with BMA students. The Danis’ also invested financially in BMA’s vision with a dedication of The Stairway to Success in memory of Susu’s parents Isaac and Elsa Silberberg z’l.

Today, the Danis family’s connection to BMA continues into the next generation. After returning to Florida, Rachel joined the faculty as Middle School Academic Support Coordinator and their grandchildren, Jonah (1st Grade), Elsa (Pre-K) and Gabriel (N2) Ginsburg, are all proud BMA students.

We are privileged to express our hakarat hatov to Susu and Steve Danis and to share their remarkable BMA story at this year’s Gala Dinner—a true example of l’dor v’dor in action.
