Anna Lelonek, or as most people know her, Annie, is a lawyer from East Meadow, N.Y. Annie graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as the Brandeis Center’s Cardozo Chapter President, as well as president of her school’s chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF). 

 

Annie currently works as an attorney for the asset-management firm Sculptor Capital Management. A Long Island native, she attended the Schechter School of Long Island from kindergarten through twelfth grade, which inspired within her a love of Judaism and the State of Israel. She went on to attend Queens College, where she double majored in political science and anthropology. 

 

With her extensive experience educating children in Hebrew, prayers, and other areas of Jewish study as a tutor at the Manhattan JCC and as a Hebrew school teacher at Congregation Beth Ohr in Bellmore, she also provides bar/bat mitzvah preparation. Annie serves as a leader and active member of her synagogue, Congregation Beth Tikvah in Wantagh, and received the Lion of Judah Award for her leadership at the 2023 Israel Bonds Breakfast.

 

In her spare time, Annie loves spending time with friends and family, watching “Jeopardy” and her favorite TV shows, playing with her five-pound chihuahua, Micro, catching Mets games, and going to amusement parks. It is her honor to accept the L’Dor V’Dor Young Leader Award from the BQLI Region of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism.
