Diane Charet
Woman of AchievementJericho Jewish Center
Diane Charet’s Judaic journey began in Queens as a teenager when she attended Tel Yehudah, a teenage Zionist camp. It was affiliated with the Young Judea youth movement. There she learned a great deal about Judaism and Zionism, which became a part of her identity. She was a member of Young Judea’s national dance company, where she met other like-minded Jewish youth. These experiences greatly influenced her commitment to educating and involving youth into synagogue life. She was instrumental in bringing USY to the Jericho Jewish Center and served as chair of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Committee.
Diane and her late husband, Bill, along with their son, Jason, joined the Jericho Jewish Center in 1990, and she has been a Sisterhood member ever since. A past president of the synagogue, she is currently its executive vice president and has served on the Board of Trustees for many years. She was a major contributor ("dreamer") to the impressive and emotional Holocaust Memorial Statue and Garden at Jericho Jewish Center in her husband's memory. Currently, she attributes a great deal of her commitment and love of Judaism and Israel to her partner, Barry.
Diane is a retired licensed clinical social worker who was employed at a major teaching hospital for over 30 years. Her areas of specialization included oncology, supervision and administration. Her son, Jason, is an attorney specializing in cryptocurrency, and is married to his wife, Jennifer, who works in the fashion industry. They live in Pepper Pike, Ohio, with their young family.
