Randi Seidner
Woman of Achievement
Melville Jewish Center

Randi Seidner is the daughter of Richard and Judi Morris. She and her two brothers were born and raised on Long Island, and each attended the Schechter School of Long Island through eighth grade and graduated from The Hebrew Academy of Nassau County for high school. Her family joined Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation and became active there: Her father was the treasurer, and she became a bat mitzvah. Randi and her brothers spent summers at Camp Pontiac and participated in both USY on Wheels and USY Pilgrimage to Israel travel programs.

Randi is happily married to her husband, Rob, and they will celebrate their 30th anniversary in August. Rob is on the Men’s Club Board and assists with organizing the golf outing. Randi and Rob met in college and graduated from SUNY Albany. They both attended Touro Law School, where Randi was an editor of the Law Review, and graduated magna cum laude and sixth in her class. Professionally, Randi is the managing attorney for The Levinbook Law Firm in Hauppauge, which handles medical and commercial debt collection, among other areas. She heads up the HR department, helps run the legal team, and oversees the collectors. In her spare time, Randi is also a real estate associate broker and specializes in selling and renting homes in the Melville/Dix Hills area.

She is the proud mother of Alex and Jessie Seidner and of puppy Harley, who is a 10-year-old golden doodle. Alex recently became engaged to Sierra VanSuch. Alex and Sierra met on Birthright, graduated from Northeastern University, are bio engineers, and reside in Cambridge, Mass. Jessie is a recent graduate of SUNY Buffalo, works as an assistant teacher in a local early-childhood program, and is applying to graduate school for speech pathology. Jessie has been dating Max Braccia, who is a physical therapist in Brooklyn.

Randi and Rob have been members at Melville Jewish Center for over 20 years. Jessie graduated from the early-childhood program, and both Jessie and Alex graduated from the religious-school program. Jessie was very active in the USY chapter, was the tikkun olam chair, and helped organize the Kadima program. Both Alex and Jessie had their bar/bat mitzvah at the synagogue.

Randi has seen the difficulties that conservative synagogues have faced in the last few years. When asked to join her synagogue’s board, she readily agreed, feeling strongly that she needed to help her synagogue thrive. She has served on the board of the Melville Jewish Center in various roles, including on the annual gala committee, as recording secretary, and as the current executive vice president.

Randi and her family have been positively impacted by their synagogue for more than 20 years and consider it to be a grounding influence on each of their lives. By attending synagogue services, participating in clubs, celebrating the holidays, and socializing with her fellow congregants, Randi feels proud and grateful to be part of the Melville Jewish Center family and views her involvement as the best way to “give back” to her Jewish community.

Randi is honored to be the Melville Jewish Center Sisterhood’s Woman of Achievement and is humbled by this award.
