Leora Cohen is thrilled and honored that Midway Jewish Center of Syosset is recognizing her as a Woman of Achievement, along with her daughter, Shir Levenson, who is a L’ Dor V’Dor honoree. Leora is married to Rabbi Joel Levenson, who serves as Midway’s rabbi and is a prominent rabbi in the Conservative Movement. As the rebbetzin, Leora participates in all aspects of synagogue life.

 

She and her husband are so proud of their children, Shir, Sam, and Gideon, who are all students at the Schechter School of Long Island. Leora currently serves as the Social-Emotional Learning & Character Development School Specialist and Lower School Counselor at the Schechter School of Long Island. Leora was born and raised in Livingston, N.J., and grew up at Temple Beth Shalom. She is now proud to live on Long Island and be a part of the Midway Jewish Center family.
