Shir Levenson is an eleventh-grade student at the Schechter School of Long Island. She is the co-captain of the Cross-Country Team and loves spending time and working hard at each practice and meet. Shir is the founder and president of the school’s Book Club in addition to being the co-president of the Environmental Club. Her involvement in these groups highlights the value she places on serving her community as well as her respect and caring for the environment. 

 

Shir is the vice president of Israel Affairs for the MUSY Chapter of USY at Midway Jewish Center. She loves being a part of the Jewish community and working to strengthen its relationship with Israel. Shir is grateful for the support, love, and never-ending care of her parents, brothers, and grandmothers, all of whom she loves very much. Her mother, Leora Cohen, is Midway Jewish Center’s Woman of Achievement at this year’s BQLI Region Gala, and her father, Rabbi Dr. Joel Levenson, is Midway’s beloved rabbi.
