Rose is extremely honored to be a BQLI Woman of Achievement. She is currently the Temple Beth Sholom Sisterhood of Roslyn fundraising vice president, previously serving two terms as a Sisterhood co-president, vice-president, and Torah Fund co-vice president. Rose is proud to have helped her Sisterhood provide a sense of community during COVID. She played a role in managing the technology to provide continuing- education offerings on Zoom and developed safe in-person outdoor programs. Rose has supported her Sisterhood’s programs by leading “Lunch & Learn” classes, reading Torah on Sisterhood Shabbat, leading fundraising efforts, and volunteering for Sisterhood’s many programs and events. 

 

Rose has been a member of Temple Beth Sholom for more than 25 years. She is currently serving a second term as a member of its Board of Trustees. Rose has also chaired the temple’s Holocaust Remembrance Committee and continues to be involved in educational programming, as well as serving on the temple’s Social Action Committee.

 

Rose’s parents were both Holocaust survivors. She honors their legacy by sharing their family history with students at the Nassau County Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center. Previously, she participated in annual Holocaust remembrance programs for federal employees during her long career of more than 30 years as an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service in New York.    

 

Rose is most proud of her two accomplished adult sons, Ian, 27, a chemical engineer, and Todd, 26, a law school student, and of her husband, Martin, a recently retired pulmonologist. She is grateful to the Temple Beth Sholom community for educating and inspiring her family, and for the friendships it has fostered.
