Debra Thaw-Tetens

Debra Thaw-Tetens was born in the Bronx and raised in Bayside, Queens. She attended Queensborough Community College, where she earned a degree in Secretarial Studies. Debra worked at Hicksville High School for 36 years as part of the secretarial staff. Although she is currently retired, she recently returned to work at the school part time and continues to contribute her experience and dedication.
Debra has been a resident of Plainview for 34 years. She is the proud mother of three grown sons (Jason, Sam, and Aaron) and a loving grandmother to two grandchildren (Devyn and Jackson). Debra belongs to Plainview Jewish Center and is an active Sisterhood member. She likes to help-out where she can, buying snacks for Sisterhood meetings and collecting donations for Sisterhood auctions. Through her involvement, she has made many new friends and developed a strong sense of belonging within the community.
