Lindsay Hamburger is a second-year student at Hofstra University double majoring in social studies education and history. She is a cum laude graduate of Nassau Community College, where she earned her AA in Liberal Arts. She currently works as a B’nei Mitzvah tutor, family service coordinator, and teacher within the religious school at Midway Jewish Center (MJC). She previously volunteered there as a madricha and is an alumna of New York (METNY) USY.
 
Lindsay is honored to have been selected as one of this year’s Ritually Rooted Fellows at Hebrew Union College, where she is exploring the meaning of ritual in Jewish life with a cohort of peers from around the country. She also holds a position with Hillel’s Service Engagement Internship, a program highlighting ethical service learning and its connection to tikkun olam.
 
Outside of her work in Jewish education, Lindsay is a New York State-certified Teaching Assistant and is pursuing her Notary Public license. She is a voice and history tutor who works for the Plainview – Old Bethpage School District as part of its childcare program. On campus, she is active in Delta Phi Epsilon, Hillel, University Choir, and Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society. She loves taking dance classes, spending time with friends, and attending concerts in New York City.
