Since moving to Springfield seven years ago, Jessica and Dr. Noam Zeffren have come to see the community as far more than a place to live; it is where their family values, communal leadership and professional pursuits are rooted. Their deep sense of responsibility is shaped by parents, grandparents and extended family whose notable contributions, locally and across the broader Jewish community, set a powerful example of dedication, generosity and lasting impact that continues to guide their own path of involvement.
Noam, a Teaneck native, attended The Frisch School before spending a formative year immersed in learning at Torat Shraga in Yerushalayim. He earned his undergraduate degree from NYU’s College of Arts and Sciences and went on to medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at CarePoint Health Bayonne Medical Center, followed by a geriatric fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center. Noam currently works as a geriatric attending physician with the Maida Geriatrics Institute of the RWJBH Medical Group, where he plays a vital role in patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration, including rounding and consulting at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
Alongside his medical career, Noam has distinguished himself as a dedicated and trusted leader within the local Jewish community. At CIS, he is entering his third year as a gabbai of the shul’s minyanim, a role that reflects both his consistency and deep commitment to communal tefillah. He is a member of the religious committee, a valued contributor to the community’s Torah journal, Reiach HaSadeh and previously provided his expertise on the medical guidance committee during COVID. Beyond the shul, Noam is actively involved with Jewish Family Services initiatives and recently joined the Jewish Federation Leadership Council, where he offers strategic guidance to efforts supporting Holocaust survivors and elderly community members.
Jessica grew up in Livingston and attended JKHA/RKYHS before spending a year in Israel at Sha’alvim for Women. She went on to Barnard College, where she served as student government president, and has built a career in marketing with roles at Roc Nation Sports, Gannett Media, Special Olympics, CBS News, the Department of Homeland Security and the New York City Mayor’s Office. In 2018, she joined the New York Jets, where she is currently the Senior Director of Marketing. Jessica is Co-President of the Kushner Parent Activities Committee and is involved with AMIT, ImpactIsrael, United Nations Holocaust Outreach and the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. At CIS, she is a trustee on the shul board, co-chairs the communications and dinner committees, serves on the nominating committee and has previously sat on the youth, mikvah and membership committees.
Above all, Noam and Jessica cherish their most important role as the proud parents of their four children, Jonah (10), Max (7), Elizabeth (4), and Teddy (1). They are grateful for the engagement, warmth and sense of extended family within the community that makes it such a special place to raise their children. Noam and Jessica also express their heartfelt appreciation to Rav Chaim and Lea Marcus for their inspiring leadership, for modeling values from which they continue to learn and grow and for cultivating a community grounded in ahavat Hashem in which their family is privileged to live.
