The Honorable Jessica Earle-Gargan is a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, serving in Queens County. Justice Earle-Gargan was elected to the New York City Civil Court in 2020 and was subsequently elected to the New York State Supreme Court in 2023.

 

She began her judgeship presiding over Domestic Violence Criminal Court parts in both Kings and Queens County. In January 2025, she became the presiding Justice in the Queens County Felony Treatment Courts, a collection of specialized courts that address complex issues that often underly involvement in the criminal justice system. She presides over cases involving mental health, substance use disorders, veterans issues, drunk driving, gun possession, and other treatment-focused initiatives.

 

Throughout her career, Justice Earle-Gargan has been committed to the principle that justice and compassion are not mutually exclusive. She believes in accountability while
recognizing the importance of understanding the individual circumstances that bring people into the criminal justice system. Her work reflects a deep commitment to fairness, dignity, rehabilitation, and the transformative potential of the justice system.
