I started working  in the grocery business 20 years ago.  In 2016 I decided to franchise a No Frills in Thornhill ON.  After learning what it meant to “be kosher” I made it my personal mission to do everything possible to lower the price of Kosher food!  I didn’t think it was fair to force people to pay more for food just because of their religious beliefs.  The support the community has given me is very humbling.  This is why I am so passionate about keeping the prices of kosher food down.  Because of this passion,  I decided it would be best to leave my position with No Frills and move on to more independent opportunities where I could make an even greater positive impact on the kosher community without restrictions.  I worked with Savours Fresh Market and Savours Gourmet for the past year and I gained lots of knowledge while helping them create more customer focused businesses.  I will continue to support them in the future where possible because it’s important for businesses to support each other.  Most recently,  I have taken a position as franchisee of Freshco.  I took this opportunity to be a part of the Sobey’s family of stores.  Sobey’s has always supported the Jewish community and Freshco is committed to doing the same.  We are making lots of changes at Freshco Bathurst and Steeles and I look forward to more positive changes coming shortly after Passover.  Working with Freshco allows me more flexibility than what I had in some of my previous positions. This will allow me to make a positive impact on the Kosher community and I am very excited about this.

Providing a safe place for our community to shop during the Pandemic is a responsibility I take very seriously.  It starts with taking every possible precaution to protect our employees while they risk their health to provide essential services to our customers.  I am very proud of our staff for their efforts during this difficult time and I am blessed to have such a great team.
We have helped provide food for those who were affected by the fire in Bathurst and Steeles apartment buildings. We provided scarves and toques for people to hand out to those in need. Provided discounts and donations to various schools and synagogues in the area. Most importantly reducing many kosher food prices which has caused a chain reaction in other stores saving people money every day everywhere!

Lowering food prices and making kosher food affordable again has potentially caused a chain reaction for other retailers to lower their kosher food prices as well.  This is what I am most proud of currently.
