Shirley was dedicated and committed, up to the very end, to improving
and changing the lives of children and families living in Israel.
Saul and I remember with fondness the Emunah Dinner in 2000, the year we were honored along with the Singers-what a special honor it was for us to share this special occasion with this extraordinary couple.
From a personal note, I feel saddened to have not had the opportunity to work directly with Shirley in my role as president. I hope that my efforts, and the work of all those who give of themselves tirelessly to Emunah, measure up to her extraordinary standards and deserving of her unique legacy.
We miss her dearly, and thank her entire family for sharing their mother and grandmother

My dear friend, Shirley Singer, how can I put into words how much you have meant to me and so many others. Starting in the 70s with HH women you were the one who inspired me to plan events for several thousand dollars for a fitting memorial in the name of Bashy Kimmel the president of our Brooklyn shalom chapter. With your unwavering devotion to what became emunah women you spearheaded and encouraged hundreds of women to dedicate their time and efforts to the people of Israel. No one had the kind of single minded tenacity that you demonstrated over these many years to accomplish the goal that you set for yourself to love and care for the children, the frail, the dejected, and the needy of Israel. Despite medical setbacks you persevered with unwavering determination. For me, Shirley Singer will forever represent the hopes and ideals of true Chesed under the banner of Emunah.
