Dr. Harvey Cohen was recruited into the Chizuk Amuno Brotherhood by Fred Zimmerman. First, as a member of the Brotherhood, then as a Board
Member, then as First Vice President under Barry Oslick. He was President of the Brotherhood from 2021 to 2023. He credits any success he had to the help he received by all of the Board members, and from Rabbi Gruenberg. They assisted him in navigating the challenges created by of the tail end of the Covid Pandemic and the changing sensibilities of inclusiveness.

Harvey, and his wife Susan are both native Baltimoreans. They met while attending Franklin Senior High School and were later married at Chizuk Amuno by Rabbi Goldman, of blessed memory. They are the proud parents of Adam and Robin, and the grandparents of, Jenna, Al, Isaac, and Gabriel. They rejoined Chizuk Amuno Congregation over 20 years ago as they were morning the loss of parents and were embraced by the warmth of the Chizuk Amuno Daily Minyan and Dr. Moshe Shualy. They have both participated in the Daily Minyan, the Melton Program, and many other High Quality Adult Education programs at Chizuk. They have proudly watched their as their 4 grandchildren have journeyed in the Goldsmith Early Childhood Center, the Kreiger Schechter Day School, and the Rosenbloom Religious School.
