  • For the past five years, Danile has served as the primary Gabbai Rishon on Shabbat, Holiday, and Morning Minyan services. Danile is also one of our many Torah readers.
  • An active member of the Sisterhood, Danile serves on its coordinating committee. Danile managed our Judaica shop since RST’s move to City Center Blvd until recently passing on the mantle. Danile has organized the Sisterhood’s largest fundraiser, the Purim Mishloach Manot Project for the past 5 years.
  • Danile has served on the RST Board of Directors and is currently co-chair of the RST programming committee.
  • Danile actively supports Men's Club events, volunteering her time and energy in activities that include organizing Succah and Purim decorations, and coordinating chefs for RST’s annual Barbeque and Barchu.
  • As a teacher at the Jewish Peninsula Community Hebrew School and a Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutor for RST, Danile has had a profound impact on her many students.
  • Danile also worked as an assistant teacher at the Sarfan Early Childhood Center for two years.
Danile has been active in the Seaboard Region for much longer than her time at Rodef Sholom Temple. Before moving to Newport News, Danile and her husband Larry were members of Beth Sholom Congregation in Columbia, MD, and Congregation Beth Emeth in Herndon, VA.

Danile enjoys being an active member of the Jewish community, cherishing the meaningful connections she has formed and taking pride in helping to sustain the vibrancy of Jewish life on the Peninsula.
