Arnold was born in Columbus Ohio to holocaust survivors. After graduating elementary school, Arnold walked 1.5 miles to and from school. Attending college, he continued walking between classes that gave him the skill to maneuver through airport crowds and helped him lose weight. While he still prefers to walk when he can, his passengers complain when he parks far away from the store entrance.

 

Arnold got college degrees in mathematics, pharmacy and a PhD in pharmacokinetics evaluating the elimination of a potential drug in cancer patients. While in college, he got addicted to computer programming that was useful in his graduate studies and career. While in graduate school, he learned to play the piano between working in the laboratory.

 

Arnold worked in the pharmaceutical industry developing new formulations for solid, semisolid, and parenteral products. He developed an approach for predicting in vivo-in vitro correlation to define dissolution specifications for sustained-release products. He also developed an approach to estimate expiry dating using nonlinear regression that incorporates the recommended and accelerated storage conditions.

 

Later Arnold became a consultant supporting and customizing laboratory sample handling applications for the pharmaceutical, chemical and government laboratories. His knowledge of programming, databases, web applications, and other computer skills ensured that his implementations satisfied his clients and were reliable.

 

Instead of lasting about 6 months that was planned, the assignment at the government laboratory lasted about 18 years and finally made Arnold settle in Waldorf Maryland. Having heard that he was present in the area, Shaare Tikvah decided to relocate to Waldorf so he could attend religious services. He gives thanks when he accomplishes a difficult task and believes that there is a greater purpose when life appears to go awry.
