Barry began attending then-Bet Sefer Mizrachi in 1990 and graduated from the Fuchs Mizrachi School in 2004.  After high school, Barry attended Yeshivat Shaarei Mevaseret Zion in Israel for a year, followed by New York University’s College of Arts & Science.  After NYU, Barry went to law school at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York.  Upon graduating from Cardozo in 2013, Barry returned home and began working at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, where he became a Partner in January 2022.  In 2017, Barry married the love of his life, Samantha, and in 2021, they welcomed their son Jaden into our community.

Since returning to Cleveland in 2013, when not working for his clients, Barry has resolutely volunteered on behalf of the Jewish community.  For the school, from 2013 to 2015, Barry was the Chair of the then-newly created Mizrachi Alumni Association.  From 2019 until today, Barry has served as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees, a member of the Executive Committee and the Secretary of the Board.  From 2020 until the present, Barry has served as a member of the Alumni Development Committee.  For the broader Jewish community, since his return to Cleveland Barry has served on the Board of the Young Leadership Division of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland (YLD) holding officer roles as Vice Chair, and Chair, as well.  In 2015, Barry participated in the Federation’s Mandel Symposium leadership program.  From 2018 to 2020, Barry served as a Trustee on the Federation’s Board of Trustees and has served on the Federation’s Allocations Committee and Development Committee.  From 2020 to the present, Barry has served on Federation’s Supporting Mourners Task Force, which was created to help devise means for Federation to best support those who have lost loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Barry is eternally grateful to FMS for imbuing him with an ethic of service to others, an insistence on the highest standards of excellence in secular and Judaic studies and a deep love for Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael.
