William Rubenstein

William Rubenstein, a Morristown native, graduated from Morristown High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University. In 1960 he started his business career selling government adhesives and coatings at Stevens Industries in Bayonne.

A few years later, he started a remarkable career in commercial real estate, forming Rubenstein Properties with his brother, Steven. In the 1960s, their father, Michael Rubenstein, joined the organization, later passing away in 1993. In 1987, Steven's son, Andrew, joined Rubenstein Properties, and for the next 40 years they acquired 9M square feet of warehouses in more than 20 states. After Steven passed away in 2008, the business continued until January 2019 when the remaining properties were sold to one purchaser for a price in excess of $200M. Bill has continued to run the other family business, Stevens Industries, where it continues to sell adhesives and coatings to the government.

During his long business career, Bill has been a devoted philanthropist and mentor to all he has hired. He has supported charitable endeavors in his hometown of Morristown and has been eclectic and non-sectarian in making very substantial charitable gifts for the construction of buildings and to sustain the operations of many charities.

He is proud to have joined with his nephew, Andrew, and The Steven and Beverly Rubenstein Foundation to make a substantial contribution to Gottesman RTW Academy for the construction of its new building and the naming of the school campus after the Rubenstein Family.
