Rachel Levine and Andrew Ceresney: Having attended Jewish day schools through high school as kids, and coming from families with strong Jewish values, Rachel and Andrew wanted to provide a Jewish education for their children that was consistent with their values and level of engagement, but also with strong academic excellence. Senesh has provided their children with a strong Jewish education focused on building complete and thinking individuals, with a focus on community and character. At the same time, Senesh provides the secular rigor that is key to intellectual development.

Rachel and Andrew are parents of Ethan (class of ’15, Heschel class of ’19) and Jonah (class of ’18). Andrew is Co-Chair of the Litigation Department and a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton. He previously served for almost four years as Director of Enforcement at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. (commuting weekly to DC), and prior to that was at Debevoise and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. He previously served on the Senesh board. Rachel is currently the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration at the School of Professional Studies at the City University of New York. She previously served as head of HR and other policy-related positions at the NYC Human Resources Administration, and also held positions at the NYC Department of Homeless Services and the NYC Office of Management and Budget. Rachel served for a number of years as an officer and board member of the Park Slope Jewish Center.

 

Andrew Ceresney was on the Senesh Board of Trustees 2011- 2013, serving on the Legal Affairs Committee. 

Emily Reisbaum and Scott Medintz: When looking for schools Emily and Scott knew they wanted their children to learn Jewish values, history, and prayer in an organic way, and a learning atmosphere that was both nurturing and challenging. Additionally, Emily and Scott wanted a community that they felt connected to, as a family. Senesh delivered 100% on its promise to help their children, and family grow Jewishly, academically, emotionally, and communally.

 

They are the very proud parents of Solomon (Senesh ’13, Stuyvesant ’17, Michigan ’21), Joshua (Senesh ’15, Beacon ’19), and Miranda (Senesh ’19). In addition, Emily is a founding partner at Clarick Gueron Reisbaum LLP, a commercial and IP litigation boutique. Previously, she worked at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and as an Assistant US Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. She has been on the Board of Senesh since 2012, and the Chair since 2014. Scott is a journalist and editor, with expertise in consumer protection, including financial services and health care. He worked at Time, Inc. for more than a dozen years and coached little league baseball for almost as long.

Emily Reisbaum has been on the Senesh Board of Trustees since 2012, and has been Board Chair since 2014.
