Dear Robb and Vicki,

Mazal Tov on this truly well-deserved honor!
My journey in Jewish music began as a teen in HaZamir, and it was there that I first discovered my passion for conducting. While I had the privilege of leading the Ashkelon chapter for three years, it is through your immense generosity toward the JCCI that my dream of professional growth has truly become a reality.
Thank you for your vision and kindness,
for investing in my future and for ensuring the music of our people continues L'dor V'dor.

With deep gratitude,
Shani Chamovitz

Dear Robb and Vicki,

I will always be so grateful to you both for enabling the creation of this marvelous program.
In the world of music, it is so essential to keep growing and keep learning- yet there are many educational opportunities which are financially (or otherwise) inaccessible to someone like myself paying the rent with music-making. For me to have access to this one-of-a-kind program with such a one-of-a-kind mentor has refined my skillset considerably as a musical interpreter, allowed me to attempt challenging work opportunities I never could have considered otherwise, and ensured that no matter where I go in the world of music, Jewish music will always be a part of it. It's also sparked my imagination and given me both a real sense of purpose and practical toolkit for our shared responsibility to preserve our vibrant and unique Jewish choral tradition.  Thank you!

Fondly,  Abram Foster

Dear Robb and Vicki,

Mazal Tov on this well-deserved honor! Through the creation of the Jewish Choral Conducting Institute, you have profoundly impacted my life and the lives of so many of my colleagues, while helping to secure a vibrant future for Jewish choral music at the highest level.

We are deeply grateful for your vision, generosity, and unwavering commitment. It is a privilege to celebrate you and honor you on the stage of David Geffen Hall.

In Song,

Dear Robb and Vicki,

Thank you for your visionary support of the Jewish Choral Conducting Institute. It is an honor to be part of a community dedicated to the high level study of Jewish music, and to learn not only from Maestro Matthew Lazar but also from a cohort of brilliant like-minded musicians who have become a family to me. I am so lucky to be a recipient of your fiscal support and personal guidance which have prepared me and my peers to keep our musical heritage vibrant and alive.

Todah Rabah for your partnership and dedication to our shared vision of Jewish choral excellence.

With gratitude,
Joel Herman

Dear Robb & Vicki,

Thank you for the special gift of supporting excellence in Jewish music.  Thanks to you, we are blessed to learn from Maestro Lazar's priceless wisdom and experience, and
to grow into the next generation of leaders in the
Jewish musical world.

Thank you for believing in us and in this sacred work.

Dear Robb and Vicki,

We are so lucky to be among the first (but certainly not the last!) beneficiaries of your gift to the Zamir Choral Foundation. JCCI became a reality at the perfect time in my life - allowing me to be a participant in this program alongside pursuing a formal degree in conducting. Our sessions have provided the perfect complement to a general education that lacks the personalized look into my own musical traditions. Having a "makom kavua" to explore Jewish repertoire with Mati and a supportive and talented peer group is the best education I could hope for.
Thank you for giving us this life-changing gift.

Dear Robb and Vicki,

Thank you so much for your support for the Jewish Choral Conducting Institute. It has been an honor to be a part of this amazing project. I have had the unparalleled opportunity to hone my skills in technique and interpretation with Mati's guidance and then have the ability to put that knowledge to the test in sessions with my peers and guest professionals. I am very excited to see this program flourish and continue for many more years to come!
And thank you for the warm wishes on my wedding day. I look forward to making music together at Lincoln Center!

Sincerely, Elliot Roman

Dear Robb and Vicki,

Thank you so much for your generous support of the JCCI. I had the pleasure of meeting you last summer, and I was deeply moved by your warmth and modesty. Your support makes this extraordinary program possible. Being part of the Jewish Choral Conducting Institute has been an amazing and inspiring experience for me - truly innovative and so important for the continuation and growth of Jewish choral music at the highest level.
I'm deeply grateful for your commitment to this vision and for the opportunity to be part of it.

Dear Vicki and Robert,

I want to express my gratitude for the experience you made possible for me.  After so many years of choir conducting, it was a true gift to learn from Mati and to get a glimpse into the treasure that is Jewish choral music - all thanks to you.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this group and program, and to have crossed paths with you.

To Robb and Vicki,

I believe I can speak for our entire JCCI cohort when I say we are forever indebted to you both. Your generosity has given us all an incredible educational experience, which cannot be replicated or diminished.  We are all benefitting from this thriving opportunity for artistry, detail, and friendship.
May you both continue to see the everlasting joy and fulfillment of this gift you have given us.

With Love,

Dear Robb and Vicki,

It feels almost impossible to put into words what this experience meant to me. Because of your generosity and vision, we were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: two extraordinary years of growth, learning, and profound musical inspiration.
What began as your commitment to the Jewish Choral Conducting Institute and Zamir Choral Foundation became, for me, the fulfillment of a long-held dream. During this program, I grew not only as a musician but also as a human being.  I felt myself deepen, expand, and aspire to higher heights. The knowledge, the artistic insight, and the inspiration I received are gifts I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you for believing in the next generation of Jewish musicians, for investing in our growth, and for making transformative experiences like this possible. Thank you for making it possible for the beautiful Jewish musical voice to continue sounding- resonating across generations and filling hearts with spirit, memory, and hope.
Your impact reaches far beyond those two years- it shapes who we become.

With heartfelt gratitude,  Nitzan Tzyon Shohaam
