Yael Delgado and Diana Sragowicz, PTSA Presidents
Light the Path to Leadership Award
Yael Delgado and Diana Sragowicz are dynamic leaders who have brought new energy and vision to the Hebrew Academy’s PTSA since becoming Co-Chairs in 2022. Together, they have strengthened the school’s sense of community, improved morale, and developed impactful projects that support students, families, and faculty.
Yael Delgado was born and raised in South Florida. A proud alumna of the Hebrew Academy of South Dade, Yael later attended Scheck Hillel Community School, graduating in 1996. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Lynn University and a master’s in Special Education from Barry University. Yael and her husband, John Delgado, have been happily married for 19 years and are the proud parents of three children—all deeply connected to the Hebrew Academy community. John is a recent graduate now studying at UCF; Jonah is a 9th grader; and Mia Chaya is currently in 5th grade.
Yael is a dedicated member of the Young Israel of Bal Harbour and serves on the Hebrew Academy’s Board of Governors. Her love for the school and its mission is evident in every role she takes on. In her rare moments of free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and hosting community events. Shabbat holds a special place in her heart, offering meaningful opportunities to connect with loved ones each week.
Diana Sragowicz has a lifelong passion for Jewish education and community. Born in Miami and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Diana later relocated with her family to Paris, France, due to political instability. There, she earned her Baccalaureate in Literature and Philosophy before spending a transformative gap year on Bnei Akiva’s Hachsharah program. Diana continued her studies at the University of Miami, earning a B.A. in History and Education, and met her husband of 21 years, Daniel Sragowicz (’98).
Diana’s professional journey includes teaching in local high schools and various roles at the Hebrew Academy, from Early Childhood Education to Social Studies in the High School. She has also served on The Shul’s Board of Directors and WIZO’s leadership teams. A dedicated volunteer, Diana has helped plan countless school events, from fundraisers to yearbooks. Fluent in seven languages, she also enjoys exploring Miami’s Kosher foodie scene.
Both Yael and Diana bring unique strengths to their partnership. Their shared dedication to the Hebrew Academy stems from deep personal connections—through their children, spouses, and extended families—and a shared belief in the school’s mission. Together, they are shaping the future of the PTSA and fostering a vibrant, engaged community at the Hebrew Academy.
