Jason Gang grew up in New City, New York as an active member of the New City Jewish Center where he made his Bar Mitzvah.  He attended elementary school at the Reuben Gittelman school and followed by attending The Frisch School for high school.  Jason went on to graduate from New York University with a degree in history, computer science, and Jewish history. He is currently an attorney with his own private practice based in Hewlett.  Today, Jason lives in Hewlett with his wife, Leslie, their children, Alexandra, 10, and Simon, 8, and their Cavapoo dog, Kylin.

When Jason and Leslie were married, they lived in Forest Hills and were then active members at the Young Israel of Forest Hills.  When Simon was born, they moved to West Hempstead and were equally active at the Young Israel of West Hempstead.

After his experiences at multiple synagogues, it was important to Jason to find a like-minded Conservative synagogue where his family could be a part of a Jewish community with similar goals. Jason and his family quickly found a home at HERJC, making new friends. Jason is a member of the HERJC Board, serving on the House and Catering committees.  He also assists Hazzan Zakarin with weekly Torah reading volunteers.

Jason is thankful to be recognized as an Emerging Leader and is looking forward to continuing to find ways to be a constructive part of the long-term growth of our shul. He congratulates his fellow honorees!
