Thank you and Mazal Tov to Rav Shuster.
I have so much hakaras hatov for all I've learned from him. Hearing Rav Shuster at the Shapell's Shabbaton in 2007 was the main reason I decided to come and learn in person at the yeshiva. Through him the previously unknown world of the Shem mishmuel, Sfas Emes, and the Tolna Rebbe were opened to me. The chance to spend time with him in learning and conversation have been among the hilights of my subsequent visits to Shapell's. Rav Yaakov Kaminetsky once said that the hallmark of a Jew is "a yid is ehrlich". Rav Shuster is that kind of Jew. May he continue to spread the depth and excitement of Torah in his engaging, humorous, and insightful way until 120.
All the Best,

A Super Grateful Talmid

When we arrived in Israel as newlywed olim 14 years ago, we started our new lives at Darché Noam. We were privileged to receive guidance and learn from many remarkable people. Rabbi and Rebbetzin Shuster went above and beyond in this regard. They welcomed us into their home countless times. Rav Shuster is not only a wellspring of knowledge, but it is his subtle and warm ways, his passion and captivating storytelling that sets him apart as a truly special teacher. Thank you for making us feel like family. We love the Shuster family and are honored to take part in celebrating their contributions to the Shapell's Darché Noam community.

Let this small gesture be considered just the beginning of our expressing hakaras hatov to Rav Shuster. His tireless efforts on behalf of the Shapell's students over the past several years have and will have an infinite impact on them and their future descendants. I can say with certainty that when former students think fondly of Shapell's, one of the first Rebbeim that come to mind will be Rav Shuster. Rafi's parents, who briefly came to visit the yeshiva seven years ago, still talk about their meeting with Rav Shuster. Shira Elana's father, who spoke to Rav Shuster when looking into Rafi as a potential shidduch, still recalls with excitement their "geshmack", wholesome conversation. Mazel tov on this long overdue kavod.

Dear Rav Fyvel,
There are many Yeshivot that are blessed with talented individuals. But there are those rare gems, where their persona permeates every aspect of their institutions, and they become part of the very fabric of that place. I believe this is the Pshat in the famous commentary of Rashi on the words - "ויצא יעקב", where Rashi says - " שיציאת צדיק מן המקום עושה רושם ...." So too, in the Chronicles of Yeshivat Darchei Noam, it can be written - "ויצא פייבל"
Hatzlacha raba in all that you do!
