David Sable
David is a longtime JCAB member, Trustee, and cheerleader for bringing the community together. He wants everyone to appreciate and enjoy the special place we all share. The son of a rabbi and a terrific Bal Tefillah, he appreciates a well-run Shul and service as well as a joyous Kiddush.
David currently serves as Vice Chairman at Stagwell, a digital first global marketing network. A highly respected advisor, consultant, speaker, and mentor, and a published children’s author. A well-known LinkedIn creator, David ranks among the platform’s most widely read business leaders and is an active advocate for many social causes.
As former Global CEO and Chairman of Y&R, David led the agency’s transformation into a top-five creative firm globally, oversaw the growth of VML, and ultimately unified the two into VMLY&R. He pioneered innovation-focused practices across healthcare, B2B, and in-house incubation.
David’s 40+ year career began at Y&R, where he rose to become Global CEO and Chairman, and spans co-founding Israel-based Mimsar, serving as a combat medic in the IDF, and holding leadership roles at Burson-Marsteller, Cohn & Wolfe, Genesis Direct, and Wunderman, where he was mentored by industry legends and helped transition the firm into a digital powerhouse. His client roster includes Microsoft, Dell, IBM, AT&T, Citi, Kraft, and Pfizer.
David is a former Chairman of the Ad Council, a longtime board member of the 4As, and currently serves on the executive boards of Special Olympics International and UNCF, as well as American Eagle Outfitters and Ethan Allen Funiture. He was named one of Fast Company’s “10 Most Generous Marketing Geniuses” and is an executive producer of MTV’s Rebel Music. David and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters (and sons-in-law) and five grandchildren.
