Julia Buonagurio
Distinguished Faculty Award
Julia Buonagurio (formerly Glick) received her B.S. in Biology and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and has earned an M.A. in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh as well as an M.S. in Nutrition Education from American University. Prior to joining Kohelet in 2018, Mrs. Buonagurio taught at a biotechnology high school outside of Washington, D.C., where she was the leader of the Biology team. As a member of the Science Department at KYHS, she teaches an array of courses, including Biology and Chemistry. She developed the curriculum for the Environmental Science, Food Science, and Forensic Science courses for 11th and 12th-grade students. Julia is a co-leader of the Student Activities Team and works individually with students in the Learning Center. In addition to her work at Kohelet, she teaches courses for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Outside of school, Mrs. Buonagurio can be found running, weightlifting, and woodworking.
