The Menorah creates light, the incense creates a fog.

and we may not derive benefits from them.  Only to observe them,

Kdei lehodos U'lehallel Lesimcha Hagadol "in order to praise and sing of your Godly glory"

 

Our clients are our lights.  They teach us to see through the fog of this world.

You, Yoeli and Toby, are clearly the Shemen Zayis ZACH, the PURE olive oil,

used by the priests to light these candles.  

 

You and your Gourmet Glatt partners are the Shemen Zayis Zach

that fuel the work of Ohel; the beautiful lights of our clients,

From the part-time Respite Employee, to the Weekend Counselor, from Overnight Staff
in Ohel's farthest home, to the Social Worker on a home visit, from Admin Services
preparing a room for a seminar, to the Trauma Team helping a family through crisis,
and the Volunteer with a ready hug.
 
My deepest thanks to ALL of you for your constant readiness to serve

While many know our family more recently from our experience with Covid,

many do not see the behind the scenes work that our parents, 
Adina Lewis and Lawrence Garbuz
do for Ohel.

 

Despite the hectic year we have all had, our parents'

energy and work for Ohel has far from dwindled.

 

When the world was hunkering down, our parents sped up and were committed

to the needs of the community at home and at large.

They brought light and positivity back during these difficult times,

and highlighted the importance of Ohel's work each and every day.

 

We know they have been a rock and inspiration to all of you, but as children

we can say we are beaming with pride to be a Garbuz this year in particular.

 

May they continue to be wholeheartedly committed to the Ohel cause and mission,
