Mr. & Mrs. Aaron and Valerie Kurlansky
Visionary Leadership Award
Aaron and Valerie Kurlansky have been proud residents of Hollywood, Florida since 2004 and are deeply committed members of the local Jewish community. They are the parents of three children, Noah, Maya, and Nathan, and share a strong dedication to education, leadership, and communal growth—values that have played a meaningful role in the development of Ohr HaTorah.
Valerie holds a Master’s degree in Education and Reading and began her career as an elementary school teacher and reading specialist. She later founded Sunshine Tutoring, helping countless students build confidence and academic success. Valerie partnered with her husband and the Levy family in bringing the vision of Ohr HaTorah to life, where her educational background continues to influence the school’s foundation. This year, she joined the faculty as the Yearbook and Journalism teacher, guiding students in capturing and preserving the moments that define the Ohr HaTorah experience.
Aaron is a principal at Sheridan Capital, where he provides strategic leadership in his professional work. At Ohr HaTorah, he has taught the Business Club for two years and has worked behind the scenes to support the school’s long-term stability, including helping secure and maintain a permanent home during its formative years.
Together, Aaron and Valerie share a unified vision of building a strong, values-driven educational community. Their dedication and partnership have helped Ohr HaTorah grow into the thriving institution it is today.
