Jim Whitehill
Immediate Past President of the Pima County Bar Foundation
The Pima County Bar Foundation is proud to honor Jim Whitehill as its Immediate Past President. When Jim joined the Board of Trustees in 2019, his worth to the Foundation became immediately apparent. His experience serving on other, long-established nonprofit boards in the community proved invaluable to PCBF. While, as a new Trustee, he was always ready to listen and learn, Jim was often the Board member who would ask the hard questions to help the Board find and focus on the crux of an issue. And, just as readily, Jim was willing to take on the hard work required to turn well intended plans into accomplishments.
When it came to leadership, Jim’s service as PCBF’s President was exceptional. PCBF, and its parent, PCBA, recently experienced an unexpected change in executive leadership that forced both organizations to re-examine their structures, programs, policies and procedures and to make long overdue changes that will ultimately make them each stronger (recalling the adage about experiences that don’t kill you!).
As President, Jim did not flinch from asking hard questions and he courageously faced down some hard truths. It is no exaggeration to say that PCBF would not have the strength and bright future that it has today were it not for Jim Whitehill’s leadership. PCBF congratulates Jim on a job well done and expresses its heartfelt gratitude for his service.
