Charles Kupferberg
2020 Schechter Manhattan Alumni Leadership Award
Charles Kupferberg attended Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade, graduating in 2007. He went to high school at the Horace Mann School, while also attending Prozdor at JTS. He graduated from the University of Chicago with bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science in 2015.

After a few years nurturing his interest in public policy and a stint working for KEPCO, Inc., Charles joined J Street in 2018. He was promoted to Senior Regional Operations Associate in 2020. He credits Schechter Manhattan with helping foster his love of learning and tikkun olam. It is because of this desire to make the world a better place and see shalom b’yameinu that Charles joined J Street. He wants to help the organization in its mission to support Israel as a secure and democratic home for the Jewish people, and advance the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Charles volunteers at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum through Vectors, an organization that teaches kids about science, rockets, and space through video games, and at the New York Common Pantry through his synagogue.
