Benjamin Mann is passionate about building Jewish community and helping young people find Jewish commitments to enrich their lives.  Over more than 20 years working as a Jewish day school educator, Ben has served as Teacher, Director of Special Services, Curriculum Coordinator, Division Head, and most recently as the Head of School at Schechter Manhattan.

Ben is pursuing doctoral studies at the Davidson School of Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he is researching the inclusion of students with special learning needs in Jewish day schools. He is an active member of his synagogue, Congregation Beth Sholom in Teaneck, NJ, and volunteers on the Education Advisory Group and Child Safety Committee of Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, the Jewish summer camp that he attended growing up.

Ben is blessed with a loving and wonderful family - his wife, Aliza, and three children, Matan, Orly, and Ariella. Ben enjoys rooting for the NY Mets, cooking, and celebrating shabbat and chagim with family and friends.  Ben loves listening to and making music.  He plays guitar often with the students at Schechter Manhattan and each summer for over twenty years he joined the Camp Ramah in the Berkshires band to help lead their song festival.   Last summer Ben and his children wrote, recorded, and released an album of original songs that he is very proud of.

Ben is filled with gratitude for his amazing 15 years at Schechter Manhattan and thanks the entire Schechter Manhattan community for this humbling honor.
