Julie Sissman and Phil Richter are the proud parents of Schechter Manhattan Middle School students Talia and Orli. Julie is the President of Schechter Manhattan’s Board of Trustees, and Phil serves on Schechter Manhattan’s Strategic Task Force and Audit Committee.
In addition to serving as Board President of Schechter Manhattan, Julie is active in the Jewish giving circle world, serving as member, advisor, and/or Board member at the Jewish Women's Foundation of NY, Natan, HEKDESH, and Amplifier. She also serves on the Advisory Board of jGirls Magazine and is a MikvehGuide with ImmerseNYC. In her professional life, Julie is an Organization & Leadership Consultant, a strategic thinker with extensive experience coaching, conducting assessments, and facilitating workshops with senior teams at large organizations, like IBM, and small ones, like start-up non-profits. She graduated from Columbia University with an M.A in organizational psychology, and received her B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan.
Phil is a Partner at Fried Frank and co-head of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice. He represents clients in mergers and acquisitions transactions and advises on corporate governance matters. Phil has been recognized as a leading M&A lawyer by Chambers, Legal
500, Law360, Lawdragon, the New York Law Journal and The Deal. Phil graduated from Columbia Law School where he served as a Senior Editor of the Law Review, was a James Kent and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and received the school’s Paul R. Hays Prize. Phil received his B.A. magna cum laude from Yeshiva University.
