Jeffrey Shlefstein
President, Schechter School of Long Island Board of Trustees
Jeff Shlefstein's deep roots in Conservative Judaism began in Brooklyn, NY, where his family was actively involved at East Midwood Jewish Center. His early Jewish experiences included Hebrew School, USY membership, and summers at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires—connections that would later shape his family's educational choices.
Jeff's leadership in the Jewish community spans decades. He has served on the national board of USCJ, chairing both the Alumni and Audit committees, was a board member of Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, and served as President of Shelter Rock Jewish Center.
For Jeff and his wife Julie, choosing the Schechter School of Long Island for their children—Sarah (26), Rachel (21), and Joshua (19)—was a natural extension of their commitment to Jewish education. They credit Schechter's excellence in both Judaic and secular studies for their children's success. A Partner at Withum, Jeff brings his expertise as a CPA to both his professional life and his service to the Jewish community.
