NOAH ROTH, '09
Alumni Award
Noah attended the Schechter School of Long Island from kindergarten through 12th grade, an experience he credits with profoundly shaping who he is today. Schechter provided him with a strong Jewish foundation that has guided him throughout his personal and professional life.
That connection to Schechter came full circle seven years ago, when a former teacher reached out to Noah about returning to the school in a new capacity as a hockey coach for the Storm. Working with the school, its student-athletes, and their families has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Together, they have built a meaningful community within the walls of the Den. While it may not look the same as the Den in Glen Cove, the sense of pride, connection, and tradition inside remains just as strong. Noah is grateful for the opportunity to pass on Schechter’s culture and values to the students he has had the privilege of coaching, past and present.
During college, Noah was actively involved with Ithaca College’s Chabad, further deepening his engagement in Jewish life. Today, he continues that involvement through AIPAC Young Leadership and the Community Security Service (CSS). Professionally, Noah has also supported Jewish communal efforts through his work with the New York Islanders, where he helped create meaningful Jewish Community Nights.
Giving back has always been a core value for Noah, one instilled in him throughout his years at Schechter. In today’s climate, he remains confident and proud of his Jewish identity that was nurtured by both his family and his education. Noah believes it is more important than ever to support the Jewish community and invest in the next generation of Jewish leaders. That commitment begins at Schechter.
