Stephen Klein & Kevin Farrelly

Steve and Kevin joined Town & Village Synagogue in 2003, when Steve sought a minyan in order to say kaddish for his father.  Both Queens natives, they met in 1972 while working at a summer job at First National City Bank.  In 2012, 40 years later, they were married.

Steve continues to regularly attend morning minyan at T&V and is in charge of the yahrzeit plaques in the sanctuary.   He installs new plaques and each week lights them on yahrzeits, as well as on days when yizkor is recited.   He has served on the shul’s Board of Directors and was active in T&V Together.  He is a graduate of Hunter College and the Fashion Institute of Technology.  For many years, he was a textile designer in the garment industry.  When that business left New York, Steve obtained a certificate in gerontology from Brookdale Center and became a helper for many elderly persons, most dealing with dementia.   He enjoys square dancing with the Times Squares.

Kevin organizes events for Ge’im ba Village, the shul’s LGBTQ group.  He has served on T&V’s Adult Education, Nominating and Long Range Planning Committees and for several years was the organizer of shul volunteers who made holiday food deliveries for God’s Love We Deliver.

He is an attorney with a practice focusing on trusts and estates, real estate and litigation.  A graduate of Regis High School, Columbia University and Fordham Law School, Kevin has been active in numerous civic and good government groups, including stints as president of the Bayside Hills Civic Association, the Bayside Historical Society, and the Regis Bar Association as well as chair of the board of directors of the Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village Tenants’ Association. He has also served on the boards of the City Club of New York, the Committee for Modern Courts and the LGBT Bar Association of New York.
