Leon is a proud former camper and waterfront instructor at Camp Ramah in the Poconos and Camp Ramah Canada.  His family were founding members of Larchmont Temple in Westchester.  Following NYU, he entered the financial services industry where he worked for 50+ years, most of which were in his own practice.  Leon loves attending services at T&V; serving on the executive board as a VP for most of the 25 years he and Joan have been members; smoking cigars with his T&V buddies; listening to classical music; and supporting and attending the NY Botanical Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.  When he's not so occupied, you can find him tending to his orchids and his terrace garden.  Leon loves construction and is devoted to keeping our synagogue building healthy, stable and up to codes.  Most of all Leon loves his wife Joan, their cat, their nieces and nephews and their T&V family,

Joan is happiest when she's attending morning minyan every Monday and Thursday, working in the kitchen and tending bar at Shabbat kiddush.  Prior to her work in Jewish Day school administration, where she worked for 20 plus years, she was an ESL teacher, part time actor and director of the Jewish community Day Camp in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Upon retirement she became an active and avid volunteer for the USO, supporting our active duty service members as they were stationed in the tri state area or traveled to NYC.   She loves to daven at T&V every Shabbat, entertain at home and is the beneficiary of Leon's love of terrace gardening, where you can find her in all seasons.  Most of all Joan loves her siblings, her many nieces and nephews, her husband Leon, their cat and their T&V family.
