I remember when Rabbi Roth retired and this new, rather young rabbi took over.
I thought he'd have big shoes to fill, since Rabbi Roth was so highly loved. Little did I know that our Rabbi Robert Goldstein would became a rabbi's Rabbi. What makes a rabbi like
Rabbi Goldstein so admired and loved? Qualities like warmth, compassion, understanding,
intellect and, of course, humor. Oh yes, did I mention the enviable quality of being a mensch?
They all apply to this man.
But beyond being a leader of Temple Emanuel, he has been and hopefully will continue to be
a leader in the community and not just the Jewish community.
Personally, Rabbi Goldstein has been the most important rabbi to our family. From knowing
and seeking advice from my Mother as a very young rabbi to being there for all of our family's
events of life. From giving advice to me, my wife and my sons. He has always been there
for us and even though we have moved afar to a different community, our friendship
and feelings of closeness continues and will never abate.
We wish you and Faith well in your well deserved retirement with the knowledge that
you both have been an inspiration to all that have been fortunate to know you.
Please know that as you have been there for us in the past,
we will be there for you in the future.
With much love and respect,
