Dr. Sultan is an active member of several medical societies, including the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sam Sultan grew up in West Orange, NJ (interesting fact – Rabbi Alter was once the assistant Rabbi of the shul in West Orange), and he has 6 brothers and 1 sister. He and his wife Jennifer (Pick) have 3 daughters who are proud Moriah students, for the last 2.5 years, since they moved from Baltimore to Englewood. They are active members of Congregation Ahavath Torah and in the short time they have been a part of the community, have already made their mark. Professionally, he works at New York Presbyterian / Weill Cornell, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, as a transplant surgeon focused on kidney and pancreas transplants. His particular interest in COVID-19 relates to people who are immunosuppressed. He has been honored to be a part of Moriah’s medical advisory committee, as an opportunity to work with some of Moriah’s outstanding leadership.
