Lisa and Jonathan Schechter

Lisa and Jonathan have been married for twenty-four years and have resided in Englewood, New Jersey since 2004. They are the proud parents of Sarah (Class of 2016), Alexandra (Class of 2019) and Jackson (Class of 2023). They have been Moriah parents for 17 years and became involved in the Moriah community right from the start. Moriah is delighted to recognize the extraordinary leadership and devotion of the Schechters to our community. Lisa is a dedicated member of the Board of Trustees, and Jonathan previously served on the Board for many years. Together, Lisa and Jonathan have co-chaired the Moriah Summer Outing and the Annual Dinner for a number of years. Lisa was a member of the MAP Board, chairing numerous events, and has served as a Names, Not Numbers mentor three times. Lisa and Jonathan have also assumed leadership roles in a variety of other communal organizations. Lisa is an active executive board member of National Emunah, and a past president of the Gela Feldman Chapter of Emunah in Englewood. Jonathan previously served as a Board member of Congregation Ahavath Torah and is involved in AIPAC and Teach NJ. Through their children, they have become involved in other incredible organizations like Yachad, Friendship Circle, The Bergen County Toy Drive, Chai Lifeline and Kol Hanearim where both of their daughters have spent summers volunteering with children at risk in Israel. Their dog Dunkin visits children with special needs at the Yachad Mendel Balk Center. Jonathan is a partner at the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and primarily focuses on real estate private equity transactions. Before having children, Lisa had a successful career in public relations both in the United States and London. She recently started social media influencing and launched a lifestyle blog LisOnLife.
