Sheri & Richard Feldman
Guests of Honor

Sheri and Richard Feldman are longtime residents of West Hempstead, and their quiet, steadfast leadership within the community has been an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of working alongside them. Sheri’s roots in the community run deep, as her parents moved to West Hempstead when she was just six months old. She attended HANC and has vivid memories of the original Young Israel building, where she worked as a youth group leader. Richard, on the other hand, moved to West Hempstead with his family while attending YU. His first memory of Sheri was at the community's fanciest restaurant at the time, Hunki's, and shortly thereafter, Sheri’s father introduced them at the shul’s new members tea with the words, “They have a son, and we have a daughter, and they are going to get married.” Rabbi Kelemer wished them a mazel tov, and not long after, they were privileged to have him serve as M’sader Kedushin at their wedding.

Since their marriage, Sheri and Richard have devoted themselves to their growing family and to their beloved community. Richard’s early involvement began with the membership committee, where he would personally visit new families and sign them up as members. He continued his contributions on the dinner and Kol Nidrei committees before serving as financial secretary for four years. In those early days, Richard was responsible for mailing out member statements and personally recording and depositing every check the shul received. His leadership continued when he was asked to join the board and later served as gabbai in the main shul for four years, vice president for three years, and president for two years. Today, Richard chairs the shul’s finance committee and serves as the longtime gabbai at the 7am daily minyan, where he has davened since its inception. Outside of his work for the shul, Richard is a tax director at Armanino Advisory, LLC.

Sheri has also been a cornerstone of the community, serving on numerous shul and community committees. She was an active member of the sisterhood, including a term as treasurer, and worked on the chesed cooking committee. She was PTA president at HANC and has served on the Manc board for many years, previously as financial secretary and currently as treasurer. Sheri also lends her time and expertise to organizations such as Amit, Chabad, Sharsheret, and volunteers as a driver for Ishine. Professionally, Sheri works as the CFO of Tempo Group Counseling Services.

Among their many accomplishments, Sheri and Richard take the most pride in their family. They have raised five wonderful children in West Hempstead and are blessed with seven grandchildren. Their children include Daniel and Rachel, and their children: Yehuda, Akiva, Adina, and Aharon, living in Mishkafayim Ramat Beit Shemesh; Batsheva and Asher, and their children: Yeshaya and Ayelet, residing in Plainview; Gabriella and Zev, along with Chanan, living in Alon Shvut; and of course, Tamara and Sarah.

It is with great honor and admiration that we recognize Sheri and Richard Feldman as our Guests of Honor at this year’s Annual Shul Dinner. Their dedication, tireless service, and quiet leadership have shaped the foundation of our community, and we are truly privileged to honor them. May they continue to be a source of inspiration and blessing to all who know them.
