Rabbi Meir Finklestein
Rabbi Kelemer Zt''l Harbatzas Torah
Rabbi Finkelstein received his Semicha, as well as a degree in Psychology, from Yeshiva University. During his time there, he had the privilege of studying under the esteemed Rav Hershel Schachter, and he was also fortunate to spend many summers learning from Rav Mordechai Willig. Prior to his studies at Yeshiva University, Rabbi Finkelstein spent two years learning in Eretz Yisrael at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh. He continues to grow in Torah learning as a member of the Wexner Kollel Elyon at Yeshiva University.
It has truly been a privilege for the West Hempstead community to have learned and spent time with Rabbi Meir Finkelstein. He joined the Young Israel of West Hempstead as a Rabbinic Intern in 2019, where served for two years. After that, he transitioned into the position of Rabbinic Associate, continuing to contribute to the shul's growth and vibrancy. For the past three summers, Rabbi Finkelstein has also been privileged to serve as the Rosh Kollel of the Young Israel’s summer Kollel, a role that allowed him to inspire and guide many. His popular Shabbos shiur in Inyanai B’Parsha was the highlight for many of his self proclaimed chasidim. He is also modestly of the highest caliber Ba’al Korei and ba’al tefillah. And before he takes leave for the next exciting chapter of teaching Torah in Eretz Yisrael…..
It is with great honnor that we will be presenting Rabbi Mair Finkelstein with the Rabbi Kelemer ZT”L Harbatzis Torah Award.
