Rabbi's Greeting
Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky

Dear Friends,

Each year, as our annual tribute approaches, I feel so grateful to belong to our shul.

At our tributes, we devote warm speeches, full hearts and a fun party to express our enormous regard for the people we honor, each of whom are true Ansche Chesed, people of steadfast love and kindness. Our honorees are the very best of who we are, and who we aspire to become.

Please join me on April 14 to celebrate our community and our honorees. Please purchase tickets to our communal celebration, and please support Ansche Chesed by taking out an ad in our journal. You can do all that – and see the tributes of your fellow members – here at our Tribute website.

This is a great way to express your love for our community and your esteem for some extraordinary people:

Martin Sinkoff served for three years as an extraordinary president of our community, whose wisdom, enthusiasm and depth enriched AC in so many ways. And if I may add, on a personal level, I am particularly grateful for his contributions to our weekly Shabbat morning study group, my favorite hour of the week.

Larry and Marilyn Levi live out the Jewish value of simcha shel mitzvah, the "joy of fulfilling commandments," from davvening in shul to welcoming guests. They live Judaism with the very best warmth and friendship that envelopes our shul. When I grow up, I want to be more like you!

Jen Cowan and Dan Jacob are true leaders in everything they do. With great thoughtfulness, consideration, generosity and commitment, they show us how to be great parents, friends and citizens of the world. Both have served AC as board and committee members and leaders of Minyan M'at. They have made AC wiser, more stable and especially more environmentally sound.

Thank you, Martin, Larry and Marilyn, Dan and Jen, for being part of this community with us and for your inspiring leadership.

And thank all of you for your reliable support in building a community of kindness where Jews find study that stretches the mind, ritual that moves the heart and caring deeds that improve the world.

Warmest Wishes,

Jeremy Kalmanofsky
