Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When and where is the gala?

June 2 at Beth El, outside in the tent.

What will I do at the gala?

You'll start by schmoozing with our friends in the Beth El community! Together we will celebrate a beautiful evening with craft beers, cocktails and mocktails; bid on unique and amazing experiences and prizes; and revel in being together in person outside.

We'll honor Mark Silver and Alan and Allison Kellman for their leadership of our community; and then we'll dance together in celebration and fun.

Why does Beth El do a gala?

There are 3 reasons for the gala: we raise money to support our shul; we toast our honorees and thank them for their work; and it gives us a time to spend a fun evening together with our community.

What do I wear?

The dress is "festive attire" which really means it’s up to you -- think club chic, garden party, bar mitzvah.  Be comfortable and festive – enjoy this chance to dig out the fun dress from the back of your closet and discover that you can wear clothes other than sweatpants.

Where do I park?

There are some parking spots at Beth El (though the back parking lot will be occupied by the tent).  In addition, Ursuline has offered their parking lot to our guests, and it is a short walk from there to Beth El.  Of course, Ubers/carpools are also good options.

Unfortunately I have a conflict that night. Is there anything I can do to show my support for Beth El and the honorees?

Yes! You can take out an ad in our online journal, buy raffle tickets, and bid on some of the terrific items in (or donate items to) our online auction. You can do all of those things by visiting the gala page of Beth El’s website.
