Aaron and Rona Lerner
Share with your family and friends.
Aaron Lerner manages Bikur Cholim’s Medical Equipment Loan Program, acknowledging equipment requests and letting requesters know how to obtain the equipment. If required, he and often Rona, will deliver the requested equipment. In a typical year almost 200 requests are made for wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, canes, and similar items. Additionally, Aaron delivers BCGW food packages to individuals at home and in hospitals.

Aaron is also an active volunteer for Yad Yehuda’s Capital Kosher Pantry, opening the pantry to shoppers, and delivering food to homebound patrons.

For over 30 years he performed taharas for the Chevra Kadisha, and he and Rona chaired the last three Chevra annual dinners.

Rona Lerner has volunteered for BCGW since its inception in 1997, helping prepare meals for patients and their families.  After her retirement from government service, Rona began volunteering in a number of BCGW activities – driving patients, delivering meals to private homes and hospitals, helping stock the hospital food pantries, and working with Aaron in support of the medical equipment loan program.

In addition to volunteering for BCGW, Rona volunteers for the Yad Yehuda Capital Kosher Pantry, inspired by her husband’s work for the Pantry.  She is also a volunteer for JSSA Hospice.  Among the other organizations to which Rona devotes her volunteer time are Senior Connection, WJLA-TV’s Call for Action, and the Montgomery County Medical Reserve Corps.
