Elise and David Askenazi are esteemed members of the BMA community, serving as pillars since they joined the school. They take pride in their roles as parents to Raquel (5th grade), Isaac (2nd grade), and Ellie (N3). Their commitment to BMA is intrinsic, and they have dedicated their energies to our school, becoming integral members of our family.

David attends the Middle School Sephardic Minyan on Mondays and Thursdays to lien for the students ensuring that the students are able to fulfill the requirement of Torah reading and providing guidance to students in their Tefilah. He has served on numerous committees during his tenure at BMA and currently plays a pivotal role on the Strategic Planning Committee for the next three years.

Elise has undertaken various voluntary positions at BMA, from classroom mom to PTA Board member and then President, culminating in her current role as Secretary on the Executive Board of the Board of Directors. Her catalyst to becoming more involved was when she was invited to join the Head of School search committee which hired Rabbi Fein. Since then Elise has worked on the redesign of the branding and marketing of BMA, as well as wrote the first two annual reports the school published.

 

Alongside her role on the Executive Board, she chairs the Governance committee which involves onboarding of new board members and setting and maintaining ongoing sound governance of the board.Her wealth of experience in marketing and communications enhances our leadership team, and she readily embraces any task assigned to her. Even her spare hours are devoted to BMA; last year, she sacrificed her Sundays to attend a Lay Leadership training institute for future organizational leaders.

We are fortunate to have Elise and David at the heart of our community. Their guidance, energy, and active involvement enrich BMA, and we consider ourselves privileged to have them on our team.
