The Jewish Federation of Broward County mobilizes our local Jewish community to provide leadership and financial resources that strengthen and enhance Jewish life in Broward, Israel, and around the world.

This past year alone, the Jewish Federation of Broward County granted $21.5 million to enable 95 programs to strengthen and enhance Jewish life. These grants addressed needs ranging from food insecurity, homelessness, senior care, domestic violence, special needs and mental health to Jewish education, community relations and ensuring a strong and secure future for our community both locally and abroad.

Highlights of Federation's impact last year include:
  • 7,000 community members were fed through partner pantries
  • 1200 students received scholarships that enabled them to attend local Jewish preschools and day schools
  • 800 campers were awarded scholarships to attend Jewish camps
  • 700 Holocaust survivors received financial assistance
  • 4700 families experienced the joy of Jewish storytelling through PJ Library
  • 8,000 Jewish college students throughout the state of Florida were provided support to be advocates for Israel
  • 1,000 students learned the lessons of the Holocaust and the importance of speaking out from local survivors
Federation's annual support of its partners ensures that when emergencies happen, they're ready and don’t have to build the firehouse while the fires are raging.

In response to the atrocities of October 7th, Federation mobilized its partners in Israel immediately to address urgent needs, such as medical care, emergency services, evacuation, transport, housing, supporting victims of terror, trauma relief, psychological support, and security.

Beyond the emergency needs, Federation has empowered hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers to rebuild and respond to ongoing medical, mental health, communal, and economic needs.

BMA is proud to have a longstanding relationship with the Jewish Federation of Broward County. Over the decades, the Federation has played a pivotal role within BMA, providing capital support, funding scholarships, and facilitating collaboration and sharing of best practices amongst all Jewish communal institutions.

Most notably, BMA received a generous $1.5 million contribution from the Jewish Federation of Broward County for our capital expansion. This meaningful gift has served as the catalyst for the school's fundraising efforts and was instrumental in advancing our Building Campaign. Remarkably, this marks the second significant capital donation from the Federation to BMA in the last 10 years.

It is with great privilege that we acknowledge and celebrate the Jewish Federation of Broward County for their invaluable contributions.
