KETER SHEM TOV AWARD
“Keter Shem Tov” means the crown of a good name.
The award’s name comes from Pirkei Avot 4:13 where Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai states: “ There are three crowns: the crown of Torah, the crown of priesthood, and the crown of royalty, but the crown of a good name is above them all.”
Inaugurated in 2025, the Keter Shem Tov Award recognizes distinction for long-standing service to Congregation Israel of Springfield as well as a dedication to the wider Jewish community. The award is given to individuals exhibiting outstanding character, goodness and selflessness, always seizing opportunities to help others.
