Abe served Men’s Club and Congregation Har Shalom in many capacities since joining in 1991. He is a distinguished past Club President and currently Chair for Men’s Club Shabbat. Board positions have included Treasurer and VP Communications & Publicity.

Abe served Har Shalom as a Board member during times of rapid growth. He is currently a member of the “Yad Squad” frequently reading Torah on Shabbat, holidays, and morning minyan. He is a minyan leader for Chevra Kadisha at shiva houses and on weekday mornings.

Professionally, Abe is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). Before retirement he was Senior Level Expert for Auditing Standards for the Government Accountability Office (GAO). Abe was National Director for Auditing and partner of an international CPA firm. He is a published author and was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at American University.

Abe and his wife Marcia live in Potomac. They have a son and three grandchildren who reside in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Abe is an avid fisherman and frequent Alaska visitor. He earned his BBA & MBA from Baruch College (City University of NY).
