Ken was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. A product of the New York public school system, he graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, followed by a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Tech.
Ken began his professional career at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, then transitioned to the federal government where he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in New York City. In November 1987, Ken relocated to the Washington DC area where he began working for the U.S. Bureau of Mines. Upon the closure of the Bureau of Mines in February 1996, he returned to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Belvoir, Virginia where he remained until his retirement in July 2019.
Ken, his wife Linda, and their two children joined Agudas Achim Congregation in 1998. Ken has been a member of the Agudas Achim Men’s Club for a number of years.
